Topic:          "Future of Crime in Arizona"

Guest Speakers

Dr. Jeffeory G. Hynes, Commander, Phoenix Police Department

and

Alberto Melis, Chief of Police, Douglas, AZ

Our guest speakers will discuss trends the police are seeing in Phoenix and the border towns, backed with present crime statistics and projections into the future.    Both speakers are recognized for their contributions in the WFS Police Futures Working Group.  This special meeting was arranged to provide insight into Arizona's crime after National Geographic aired a program on AZ crime, "Narco State", which claimed Phoenix is now worse than  El Paso.  The CNBC financial channel picked up this airing.   If Arizona's crime is receiving national attention, we should have an accurate assessment of the future of crime in Arizona to understand the implications businesses, civic planners and policy makers should consider.

Come hear what these two, who keep their eyes on Arizona's crime trends, have to say.
